Falling, Falling, Falling...Away
The word fall means, to drop from a height; fail, decay, die. 2 Thessalonians 2:3 KJV tells us: Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Verses one and two tells us what day the scriptures are referring to. 2 Thessalonians 2:1-2 KJV Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. A simple word study shows us what the day of Christ is compared to the day of The LORD. The day of Christ is a reference to the catching away and the day of The LORD is a reference to His wrath being poured out. To learn more on these topics watch the videos below. So we have a present drop from a height, a present fail, a present decay, or a present dying. When we dig deeper into the scriptures we see that falling away is apostasy. It is a desertion from the truth, God's word preserved in what we know as the KJV. Genesis 45:5 KJV Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life. God sent Joseph ahead of his brothers to preserve not only Joseph's life but his families, Israel. Nehemiah 9:6 KJV Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee. God preserves everything he chooses, so how much more His people? Job 36:6 KJV He preserveth not the life of the wicked: but giveth right to the poor. Psalm 31:23 KJV O love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer. Psalm 32:7 KJV Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. It's kind of hard to think that people actually believe a person can lose their salvation when there are so many scriptures that show God preserves His people. John 10:26-29 KJV But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. It's not a matter of did God lie. It's a matter of people trying to make God into a liar, not having true faith in God and trusting what he said. It's funny how people trust doctor's who read books written by man to become doctor's, but they don't trust that God can preserve His word. They say the bible was written by man. Has God not always used man? Is man not made in the image of God? Job 7:17 KJV What is man, that thou shouldest magnify him? and that thou shouldest set thine heart upon him? Psalm 8:4 KJV What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? 2 Timothy 3:16 KJV All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: Psalm 12:6-7 KJV The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. Psalm 119:140 KJV Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it. Proverbs 30:5 KJV Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. We see that God preserves everything he chooses to and most importantly his own words which are pure. It's simple to understand the power of words by going back to Genesis. God told Adam and Eve they would surely die if they ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Satan told Eve ye shall not surely die. So it's simple to see the ramification of words because we all know what happened. Proverbs 18:21 KJV Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. John 6:63 KJV It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. But let's look at it from a more personal level. If your parents continually spoke words of hate toward you, how would that affect you? What about if it was your spouse? When we speak God's word in faith, we are speaking life. Simply because God is life and Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh. 1 Timothy 3:16 KJV And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. Ecclesiastes 8:4 KJV Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou? God's word is throughout the heavens and this earth. God's word was preserved by a King, King James in line with what God himself said he would do, preserve his word. Luke 4:32 KJV And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power. When Jesus spoke he spoke words full of power that astonished people. Not simply because he had words coming out of his mouth, but they were words full of power and spiritual words of life being spoken to the dead. 2 Corinthians 6:7 KJV By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, 1 Thessalonians 1:5 KJV For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. Hebrews 1:3 KJV Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Psalm 138:2 KJV I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. God's word tells us that where the word of a king is there is power and that God has magnified his word above all his name. We also know that Jesus Christ is the Word(captial W), yet the written word(lower w) cannot be separated from the Word. Matthew 26:24 KJV The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born. Psalm 40:7 KJV Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me... We see the scriptures tell us that the Son of man, the Lord Jesus Christ could only go as it is written of him. What happens if somebody writes another book of Jesus Christ and sends him somewhere else? Would this be the same Jesus Christ that we know is contained in the KJV? Matthew 24:23-24 KJV Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. John 10:35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; If the scriptures cannot be broken, they simply cannot be broken. If they can be this means that God lied. Even our beloved gospel was according to the scriptures. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Mark 7:6 KJV He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Luke 24:44 KJV And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. John 2:17 KJV And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up. Matthew 26:52-56 KJV Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be? In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me. But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled. Jesus tells Peter that he can have twelve legions of angels come, but if he did the scriptures would not be fulfilled. If the scriptures were not fulfilled we wouldn't be where we are at right now. It is clear to see that the falling away is from the word of God, preserved in the KJV. Romans 10:17 KJV So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. So without the written word of God it is impossible to have faith. If God's word is corrupt then that means our faith would be corrupt because our faith comes from his word. If one bible contradicts that Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh doesn't this lead to another Jesus and another faith? Considering that Jesus was written about and then he came to pass. Considering also that our faith comes by hearing the word of God. 1 Peter 1:23-25 KJV Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. Psalm 119:28 KJV My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word. Psalm 119:81 KJV CAPH. My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word. Psalm 130:5 KJV I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. James 1:21 KJV Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. Luke 8:11 KJV Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Mark 4:13-20 KJV And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables? The sower soweth the word. And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended. And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred. Jesus states that if a person understands this parable they will understand the rest of them. Without understanding this parable they will be confused just as you see today. This is why so many people cannot understand when the catching away happens, the mystery of godliness which tells us that Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh, and so many more. It isn't meant for them to understand. John 8:37-39 KJV I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you. I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father. They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham. Jesus tells the religious leaders of that time they are Abraham's seed, meaning they came from his loins, but they were not Abraham's children because his word had no place in them. Galatians 3:7-8 KJV Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. The scriptures tell us that God preached the gospel to Abraham. Abraham knew that the child of promise, the Lord Jesus Christ would come through his physical loins. This is why Matthew gives the lineage of the Lord Jesus Christ all the way back to Adam. Galatians 3:9 KJV So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. Galatians 3:13-19 KJV Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto. Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise. Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. The religious leaders of that time wanted to keep the letter, the law and be justified by it. They were never children of the promise because if they were they would have believed who Jesus said he was. Galatians 3:29 KJV And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. Galatians 4:21-31 KJV Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law? For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise. Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband. Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman. So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free. Romans 9:6-9 KJV Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son. Hebrews 6:1-6 KJV Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this will we do, if God permit. For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. The scriptures state that if they shall fall away it is impossible to renew them to repentance. It may seem like it is saying that a person can lose their salvation but let's look at the next verses because it will show that this is a warning to examine themselves. Those that fall away were never saved in the first place. Hebrews 6:7 KJV For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God: God's word is stating the rain falls upon the earth, and it brings forth herbs for them who dressed it or planted the seeds of the herb. Now watch this. Isaiah 55:10-12 KJV For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. God uses the same language in Hebrews as he does in Isaiah to make a point about his word. God states they shall go out with joy and be lead forth with peace, Matthew 13:44 KJV Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. Acts 20:24 KJV But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. John 15:11 KJV These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. Now let's jump back to a verse we read earlier, Luke 8:13 KJV They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. We clearly see what the scriptures are stating and why they fall away. They have no root, believe for a while, and fall away in time of temptation. They weren't truly born again in the first place. This is why Jesus told us that if you understand this parable you would understand the rest. Isaiah 55:13 KJV Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off. Hebrews 6:8 KJV But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned. It's the same language and message that is being sent throughout the scriptures. John 15:2 KJV Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. John 15:6 KJV If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. Mark 4:18-19 KJV And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. Matthew 7:15-20 KJV Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 1 John 2:18-19 KJV Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. Those that don't bring forth fruit and who fall away were never born again in the first place which is why they fell away. A person who is truly born again will not and cannot fall away from the faith, John 6:63-68 KJV It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. Hebrews 11:1-6 KJV Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Haven't we established that it is impossible to have true faith without the pure word of God? If you cannot believe that God preserved his word, then it is impossible for you to have true faith simply because you don't believe God is capable of preserving his word. If this is the case then you are on a fast track to hell. John 4:23-24 KJV But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 17:17 KJV Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. John 17:19 KJV And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. It's not a matter of how we choose or how we feel we ought to worship God. It's a matter of what God says because he is God. We either obey him and his word or we don't. If faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God, then that is that. If we are sanctified through truth and his word is truth, then that is that. If something contradicts what we know to be truth that is contained in God's word(KJV) then we through it out, because it is a lie. We do not love lies, but rather rejoice in truth.
